Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about your stay at Thistle Britches Cabin.

How far is Thistle Britches from Dollywood?+

Just a quarter-mile from the Dollywood and Splash Country entrance. You can literally see the park from the cabin. It's the closest private cabin rental to Dollywood in the entire area.

Is Thistle Britches pet friendly? How many dogs can I bring?+

Yes! We love dogs at Thistle Britches. You can bring up to 2 dogs. There is a pet fee of $75 per dog. Dogs must be kept on leash on the property. Please clean up after your pets — we want to keep the 1-acre property beautiful for all guests.

Does the cabin have a hot tub?+

Yes, Thistle Britches has a private outdoor hot tub with stunning Smoky Mountain views. It's heated year-round. Bring your swimsuit! We also recommend beach towels — regular bath towels are provided but you'll want extras for the tub.

What time is check-in and check-out?+

Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on the schedule — contact us directly to request.

What is the average cost per night at Thistle Britches?+

Nightly rates vary by season and demand. Peak season (fall foliage, holidays, summer) typically runs higher. We use dynamic pricing to stay competitive. You'll always see the exact total including the cleaner fee and taxes at checkout before you book.

How many guests can Thistle Britches accommodate?+

Thistle Britches comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests across 2 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms. There are 2 living room areas for plenty of gathering space.

What should I bring for my cabin stay?+

We provide standard linens, towels, and basic toiletries. We recommend bringing: swimsuits and extra towels for the hot tub, snacks and groceries (we have a fully equipped kitchen), your hiking gear for the Smoky Mountains trails, and layers — mountain evenings can be cool even in summer.

How many days should I plan for a Pigeon Forge trip?+

Most guests stay 3–5 nights. That gives you time for Dollywood (at least a full day, many guests go twice), exploring the Smokies, dining on the Parkway, and relaxing in the hot tub. Fall leaf season and summer fills up fast — book early.

Is the driveway steep or hard to access?+

Thistle Britches is on the highest elevation on the mountain, which means yes, there is a hill. The driveway is manageable in a standard vehicle in good weather. In winter or icy conditions, a 4WD or AWD vehicle is strongly recommended. If you're bringing a large RV or trailer, contact us first.

What's nearby? Things to do in Pigeon Forge?+

You're within minutes of everything: Dollywood and Splash Country (0.25 miles), Great Smoky Mountains National Park (20 min), Gatlinburg arts district (15 min), Anakeesta treetop village, multiple hiking trails including Laurel Falls and Alum Cave, white water rafting, and the full Pigeon Forge Parkway with restaurants, mini golf, and entertainment.
